Millions of sheets of paper are used every month to generate documents to perform day to day business in our Region. Most of the paper being using is not made from recycled materials and a large amount of it is simply thrown away when its no longer needed. Due to this more and more tree’s are being cut down in the forests to create more paper so the cycle can start all over.
In today’s technological age we should be able to over come these problems by using the resources that we already have available to us. Our Instant Invoice program is designed to help reduce the amount of paper wasted doing business by simply trying to change one thing, how we deliver our invoices to customers. By delivering our invoices to customers electronically instead of via mail we can make a difference.
Tree’s are not the only reason
There are more environmental impacts to the way we currently deliver our invoices then just the amount of tree’s we use. Consider all of the following:
- Ink – Printer ink cartridges are rarely recycled. Most ink cartridges end up in landfills causing more pollution problems. Also with less ink being use there will be less factory time used to produce the ink which will lower the production pollution.
- Fuel – All of our invoices now are being delivered via the USPS. Those delivery drivers are using trucks and planes to move the mail from one location to another which is using more of the worlds natural resources and causing extra unnecessary fuel emissions.
- Envelopes – More paper being used and glue to hold the envelopes together. By not using as many we can help lower the production pollution to create the envelopes in the first place.
- Recycling – As previously mentioned many people forget to recycle or simply refuse to. By not sending those people the paper in the first place will make it so they do not have to remember.
