E&O Drawing Winners of Ipod’s and Dell Laptop

General Pacific is pleased to announce that the drawings for the E&O promotional giveaways have been completed. Over the past 2-3 months GenPac has been working hard with our users to improve our online ordering and shipping system QuickShip. As a promotion leading up to the NWPPA E&O conference, which was last week, GenPac decided to give away three 120GB Apple Ipod Classic’s. What was not announced was that we were also going to be collecting business cards at the conference to be used as a drawing for a free Dell Mini laptop.
Now the conference is over and the drawings are done. Here is a list of the winners and how they won:

Ipod Winners:

Kris Hinton, Consumers Power – Entered an online order 25 Thermoweld Connectors.
Glenda Park, Coos Curry Electric – Entered an online order for Polywater, Joslyn, 3M, Wesanco, and Preformed Line Products Material.
Daryce Hoffman,City of Cheney – Provided website feedback regarding QuickShip sales history. This feedback was previously posted here.

Dell Laptop Winners:

Slater Mitchell, Columbia Basin Electric – Entered laptop drawing at the E&O Conference with business card.

Multiple QuickShip Updates/Fixes From User Feedback

General Pacific is pleased to announce that we have made significant improvements to our QuickShip program recently. Over the past few weeks we have received a great deal of feedback from our QuickShip users and have implemented many design changes and fixes because of this. Here is a partial list of changes that were made recently due to your feedback.

Search Results
Our search results pages were not up to par with user expectations due to speed issues and limitations on search criteria. GenPac has fixed this issue by rewriting the entire search function of the site which has significantly increased the speed of online searches. While performing this update we have also expanded the search capabilities to include more fields to search by and also increase the relevancy of the search results. This has greatly improved the search function on the site and enables users to search by product and vendor information to find what they are looking for.

Sales History
Many of the users have mentioned that loading and searching sales history was also slower than they expected. We have made some minor changes to this area of the system and now the sales history pages are also loading significantly faster.

Printer Friendly Invoices
A number of users expressed interest in have the ability to obtain printer friendly invoices from sales history and A/R sections of QuickShip. This has now been added to the system and is available for everyone to use.

Add to Cart Buttons
Multiple QuickShip users expressed concern regarding the “add to cart” buttons on QuickShip no longer being located on the search results pages. Users had to click on the part number for each item and load the item details page before they could add the item to their shopping cart. This has been fixed and now the “add to cart” button is once again located on the search results page.

All of these QuickShip changes were originated by users such as yourself who are signed up for GenPac’s QuickShip service. We appreciate all of your feedback on our online system and hope to receive more of it in the future. Customer Feedback In Action: The Add to Cart Button

Recently we recieved some website feedback from Glenda Part at Coos Curry Electric Coop regarding the add to cart button on our QuickShip search results pages.

I would like to ability to order from the search page vs having to go to a second screen.

We went back and looked at the old QuickShip site and found that Glenda was correct and the search results page did have an add to cart button located on it and the item details pages.

So we have gone back and added that button once again to make it easier for users to add items to their cart without having to go to the item details page for every item. Thank you very much for the feedback Glenda!

Just got my login for quickship and I am very excited about the features.
I can’t tell you the number of times that I get very little info from the crew on something they need, that they say “I think we get it from Gen Pac”. Now I can look back in your order history.

Thank you for the positive FeedBack Darcye.. We have been working hard to provide extra useful features to our customers using QuickShip beyond just online ordering.

Customer Feedback In Action: The QuickShip Signup Form

Recently we received a great website feedback comment from Gary Davidson from the city of Gridley regarding the location of the QuickShip signup form on our website. Since the redesign of the website users have been having a hard time locating the signup page for QuickShip because it is only linked to from the QuickShip page. After receiving Gary’s comments regarding the signup form, the GenPac web team took action to fix the problem..

The GenPac web team has now fixed the issue regarding the QuickShip signup form by placing the link back in its original location under the QuickShip login box. Now users are able to get to the signup form from any of the pages on our website by clicking the link located in the top right corner of the screen.

The following was sent back to Gary as our response:

Gary,
Thank you for your comments. We have added an additional sign-on link next to the sign-in button on the home page, great suggestion. You have also been entered to win an IPod (See GenPac’s website for details) If you have any other suggestions or comments please let us know, this is the only way we can make the site more user friendly.
