PC-Pro+ is Itron’s programming solution for their Sentinel and Centron Polyphase meter products and is available for download here.

To run PC-Pro+ 9.60 you need Windows XP or Vista and the Microsoft .NET 3.5 SP1 framework package. This download does NOT include the .NET installation routine. You will need to download it directly from Microsoft’s website if you are not upgrading from PC-Pro+ 9.50.

To run PC-Pro+ 9.50 you need Windows XP or Vista and the Microsoft .NET 3.5 SP1 framework package. This download includes the .NET installation routine there is no need to download separately.

Please note that the installation may take up to an hour depending on your internet connection speed as the .NET packages are downloaded on the fly during the installation.

2009 Itron PC Pro+ Training

Those who attended the 2009 Itron PC Pro+ Training course in Spokane WA were treated to a wonderful venue at the beautifully restored, historic Davenport Hotel. After a software upgrade session, Dana Smith, of Itron, took over and did a wonderful job leading the attendees thru new features and functions as she navigated attendees thru the meter programing software.

To download the latest version (9.50) of PC Pro+, visit www.itronmeters.com and go to the secure log in area.

Itron has changed their website and this has impacted the customer log in. If you have had trouble (re)establishing your secure log in, please contact us and we will help you get this corrected.

The software does take time to load, and you will require an internet connection while loading the software, to down load necessary support files. Allow approximately 45min for total installation time. If you have any problems please contact General Pacific, we can assist you thru a successful installation.

The new version of PC Pro+ will not erase any existing programs and adds new features, such as the ability to reverse engineer programs from Meter Image Files and totalize meters.

Wind and Solar Bi Directional and Net Metering

Are there wind or solar generation sites being installed on your utility system?

General Pacific and Itron Electric Meters can help you with Net or Bi-Directional Metering solutions. Meters are available with Net Metering Registers, which subtract power Received by the utility from the customer, from Delivered power, that is supplied by the utility to the customer. Meters are also available with Bi Directional Metering Registers, which display energy Received, Delivered, and the Net Difference. With the help of General Pacific, meters can be configured to display the value and a three letter ID of the value. Upon programming the meters, a simple “rEc”, “dEl”, and “nEt” can be used to notate values on the display, making the meters easy to read by the customer and meter readers.

Meters are available in all current meter forms, with R300/ERT radio registers, and in single or three phase applications.

G.P. 2nd Annual Northwest T.W.A.C.S. Users Conference

General Pacific, Inc. is pleased to announce the dates of it’s 2nd annual northwest T.W.A.C.S. users conference on January 13th & 14th in Hayden Lake, Idaho. This years conference, hosted by Kootenai Electric Coop, is sure to provide an excellent opertunity to learn more about the Aclara T.W.A.C.S. system and network with other system users.

Logistics

Conference Reservation: To attend the user’s conference at Kootenai Electric Coop (KEC) a reservation is required to ensure that we have the right space available at KEC for our group. Please email Mike Crumbaker at GenPac (mcrumbaker@genpac.com) the list of those planning to attend from your utility. There is a $50 registration fee. Attendees: TWACS utility members interested in training on the Aclara Operations Center (OC), PROASys and Optimum software as well as integrating TWACS software to other utility software, creative data use and how the new Demand Response Unit (DRU) and Capacitor Switch Transponder (CST) work and are controlled.

Lunch: Lunch will be included as part of the registration fee.

Accommodations: A block of 30 rooms has been reserved at the Coeur d’Alene Resort. GenPac has secured a rate of $75 for a basic room, $109 for a deluxe room or $159 per night for a Premier room plus taxes. To reserve your room at the resort, call (800) 688-5253. Ask for reservations. The block of rooms is listed under “General Pacific”. The hotel can also arrange a reservation (for a fee) to have a shuttle pick you up at the Spokane International Airport. For those driving, the resort has covered parking that is a fee.

Itron Software Systems Training

Itron has announced the dates for the 2009 Northwest Systems Software Training!

The training will be at the Davenport Hotel in Spokane, WA: www.thedavenporthotel.com

The training will be the week of March 2nd thru March 6th 2009. Classes will begin the morning of Tuesday March 3rd and finish up the afternoon of Thursday March 5th.

Meter school is this week

This week, the week of September 7th, is the annual meter school meeting. This year meter school is being held in the Seattle area and is being attended by many customers. General Pacific’s entire outside sales staff will be in attendance as well as Rick Hall and Mike Crumbaker.

There will be two new faces at meter school this year for everyone to meet. Russ Fink who is genpac’s inside metering sales and Justin Albrecht who handles technical support & training for metering customers.
